What is CrossFit? Is it right for me?
CrossFit is a physical fitness program that combines varied, functional, and challenging exercises with sound nutritional principles to increase fitness and health for people of all ages and abilities. Everyone can participate, regardless of age, level of fitness or injury status. Whether you're 17 or 70, can CAN do CrossFit!
Do I need to be in shape to start CrossFit?
You don't need to be fit to start CrossFit - CrossFit is what will get you fit. Every workout is designed to help you succeed and is infinitely scalable - our coaches will make sure the workout fits YOU. It's the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience.
Do I get the chance to meet new friends?
Yes! Your CrossFit teammates will become your gym family! And there will be plenty of opportunties outside of classtimes to socialize.
What sets you apart from other gyms?
Our coaches have one job - to focus on you! We provide personalized attention to your goals and help you develop a host of healthy habits both inside and outside of the gym.
How often do you recommend coming to workout classes?
If you are a beginner, we recommend starting with 3 to 4 classes a week, with the goal of working up to 5 a week after your first few months. It may take a while for your body to get used to training at that intensity, so listen to your coach, start slowly, and ensure you practice good recovery methods (good nutrition, adequate sleep and hydration).
How long does it take to see results?
If you are a beginner, results will come fairly quickly; even in only 30 days, you may start to see a difference in your strength and overall fitness. But consistent attendance is key!
What payment methods do you accept?
We take all major credit cards and debit cards. We do not accept personal checks.
What kind of exercises can I expect during a workout?
Our class programming is constantly varied. Most workouts will be a combination of strength and cardio but the actual exercises change every time. Sometimes we'll use barbells or dumbbells or kettlebells; other workouts will just be your body weight. Each class is 55 minutes long and includes a good warmup, a mobility portion and then a workout (anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes +) and cooldown. Workouts may also include dedicated strength training movements, like Olympic weightlifting, deadlifting, squatting, or bodyweight strength , or you may work on a skill like handstand push-ups.
Do I have to stop eating my favorite foods to be healthy?
The basis of good health is good nutrition. To maximize your results and to ensure you can perform your best during our workouts, some changes to what you eat may be required. These changes do not have to be drastic - a healthy lifestyle has to be manageable and realistic for the long term. By avoiding excessive amounts of refined carbohydrates and eating high quality protein and healthy fats, you will see dramatic, measurable increases in health and fitness. Do enjoy special indulgences and celebratory meals, but also ensure that for most meals, you are eating mostly minimally processed foods with enough protein to support muscle building and plenty of fruits and vegetables.
